Passport
and Visa
It
is essential for all visitors to possess passports
that are valid for at least three months from the
date of arrival in the UAE (for tourism purposes)
and six months from the date of arrival for those
seeking employment or residence.
The
nationals of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Saudi
Arabia do not require visas. British citizens who
reside in UK may stay without a visa for 30 days,
renewable for another two months. Transit passengers
who do not leave the airport building do not require
a visa.
Hotels
will agree to sponsor you. You can get a visa easily
courtesy big hotels and might entail spending a few
nights with them. The hotel delivers your visa to
the airport from where you pick it up on your
arrival. Do not forget to arrange for the hotel to
fax you a copy of the visa before you leave for UAE.
It
is compulsory for all visitors with the exclusion of
AGCC nationals (Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman and
Saudi Arabia) to acquire a visa
sponsored by one of the local entities such
as a hotel or company. The different types of visa
include:-
·
Entry service permit
(for 14 days)
·
Visit visa (60 days- renewable)
·
Tourist visa (30 days- non- renewable)
Transit Visa
For incoming visitors, airlines might require
confirmation of the sponsor’s visa validity. For
those travelling onward to a destination other than
that of original departure, a special
transit visa (up to 96 hours) may be acquired
through the same airline carrier operating in the
UAE.
It
is essential that you are updated on the latest visa
regulations as they are subject to change. Those for
various nationalities are as follows
·
Visas on arrival
may be given to British citizens (60-day) with right
of abode in the UK and expatriate residents of the
AGCC (30-day), who meet the criteria.
·
German and US citizens can obtain multiple
entries from UAE embassies in their
respective countries.
·
No Visas to be
issued to Israeli nationals. You may be refused
entry to the UAE if your passport is stamped with an
entry into Israel.
