Visa for Business Visits

A business visitor may enter Dubai with either a transit visa or a visit visa. Both types of visa require the sponsorship of a company or hotel licensed to operate within the UAE.

A multiple entry visa is available for business visitors who have a relationship with a local business.  It is valid for visits of a maximum 30 days each time, for six months from date of issue.  It costs Dhs.1000 and should be applied for after entering the UAE os a visit visa.

Airlines may require confirmation (a photocopy is acceptable) that you have a UAE visa before check in at the airport.  If you have sponsorship from a UAE entity, ensure that they fax you a copy of the visa before the flight.  The original is held at Dubai International Airport for collection before passport control.  Your passport should have a minimum of three months validity left.

Health requirements

No health certificates are presently required for entry to Dubai, although it is as well to check before departure.   During the time of pilgrimage, certain requirements such as Vaccination certificate for meningitis is likely to be enforced.  

Customs

Customs procedures are very liberal in Dubai.  Normally people do not bring in any duty-payable item while they come to Dubai for the simple reason that the Duty Free shops in Dubai can provide you the same items at less cost.   Alcohol can be purchase from the duty free outlets only on departure.
